ABOUT ME
Welcome to Cherub Avenue Therapy. I’m Thérèse Mullaghan, a licensed Creative Arts Psychotherapist specialising in Dramatherapy, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. My passion lies in helping women and young people navigate life’s challenges through the transformative power of creativity and self-expression. I believe that each person holds within them the ability to heal, grow, and harness their inner strength. My goal is to guide you as you explore these possibilities and create positive change in your life.
After studying Drama at Liverpool John Moores University, I became deeply drawn to the intersection of mental health and creativity. This led me to work in various healthcare settings, including Holywell Psychiatric Hospital, Antrim, where I gained invaluable experience in supporting individuals through emotional and psychological challenges. It was this journey that inspired me to pursue my Master’s in Dramatherapy at The University of Roehampton, London. I’m proud to be fully registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I take an integrative and holistic approach to therapy, blending traditional psychotherapy with creative methods, mindfulness, and a person-centred philosophy. I believe that the creative process can be a powerful tool for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth. Whether through dramatic role-play, storytelling, art, or other creative forms, I work with you to explore emotions, uncover hidden strengths, and build resilience in a way that feels right for you.
I’m here to support you, whether you’re processing grief, facing anxiety, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life. Together, we’ll work at your pace to create a therapeutic experience that meets your unique needs and fosters lasting change.
